In Broome and Karijini we did not cycle much and when we started leaving towards Exmouth, we were happy to be back in the saddle. In the city of Tom Price we stocked up our supplies and got going the same day. Luckily we did it that way as our road was closed because of a large bush fire just one day after we have come through. The wind gods were also with us and surprised us with some awesome tailwind that allowed us to do 160km in one day - sweet. Overall it took us four and a half days to cover the 560km to Exmouth.

Our first night we stayed with a guy who rented a holiday house to go fishing and he even took us out on his boat where we saw whales and a hammer head shark. Cape Range National Park and the great snorkeling in its Ningaloo Reef is the real reason why people come to Exmouth. We fought 70km against the wind to get there and stayed for three nights in total. You can just snorkel off the beach there and we saw lots of fish, stingrays, small sharks, turtles and colorful corals. One day whilst having breakfast at the beach, we saw some whales passing in the distance and Droni allowed us to take some aerial footage of them even though they were 1km off shore.
The southerly and south westerly wind got up to 55km/h strong. Still, we cycled back into Exmouth, but thought about getting a ride to Carnarvon. Just when we arrived in town the bus drove in and we decided to take it, it would be the easiest way. We got on the bus and enjoyed 4 hours of sitting, watching a movie and eating chips. The way on the bike would have been a real drag as the wind did not die off.
In the evening we arrived in Carnarvon and stayed with Donna and Nic at the Coral Coast Tourist Park. The wind made us stay over the weekend and we could get ourselves organized and relax for a while. To see the Quobba Blow Holes, we caught a ride with some German tourists. Here the wind was nice as it made the blow holes even more spectacular. On Tuesday we kept cycling as the wind got a bit less. We stayed at Wooramel Roadhouse and slept in the camp kitchen. We even got the left over pies from the store. :) The next day we turned into Shark Bay Road already and we will spend and enjoy Denham and Monkey Mia now.

All the best from Australia,
Keep cycling,
Vroni, Droni & Joni
